Reykjavik, Iceland, JUNE 17-20, 2026 —  Get ready for midnight sun football/soccer under the world’s most spectacular light show at ReyCup Senior Soccer — a unique international football tournament played during Iceland’s magical summer solstice in Reykjavik.

Wednesday, 17 June – Iceland’s National Day gather in downtown Reykjavík for vibrant parades, concerts, and festivities. Enjoy street performances and local food while immersing yourself in authentic Icelandic culture alongside locals dressed in traditional attire. It’s the perfect way to experience Iceland’s rich heritage before taking to the pitch – combine your passion for football with an extraordinary celebration that brings the entire nation together.

Thursday, 18 June – Pre-Tournament Conference “Football is Medicine: Active Aging Through the Beautiful Game” held at the University of Iceland. This two-day conference will examine the transformative power of the beautiful game in active aging through keynote presentations, thematic sessions, workshops, and panel discussions. (Conference admission is included in Diamond Registration Packages.)

Thursday, 18 June – Welcome Reception and Opening Ceremony at the Icelandic National Stadium

Friday, 19 June – Conference continues with breakout rooms with lectures and “show and tell” at the Icelandic National Stadium, the Þróttur Clubhouse, and at tables around the fields.

20 June – Gala Dinner and Closing Ceremony at Hilton Nordica Hotel with live music and dancing

17 – 22 June – Enjoy the Men’s World Cup 2026 Live! We’re bringing the excitement of the Men’s World Cup to you! All matches will be shown on a big screen in the Þróttur Clubhouse, so you can cheer for your favorite teams together with fellow participants. Don’t miss a moment – join us for an unforgettable viewing experience!

Competition and fun on the pitch from 9am to 12pm, break for lunch, and more play from 1pm to 4pm.

7-a-side Standard football games (women’s) will be 60 minutes each (2 x 30-minute halves) with 2 games per day on Friday and on Saturday.

5-a-side Walking football games will be 12 minutes each.

Midnight Sun Pickup Game will be a late-night game in the bright light of the summer solstice, when the sun barely sets!

Outdoor pitches, artificial and natural grass, are located at the Icelandic Football Association National Stadium soccer complex.

60,000 ISK (~$480 USD) per PLAYER for a single bed and shared bathroom in the group dormitory

+5,000 ISK (~$40 USD) per PLAYER for each extra night. Maximum stay is June 17-22.

Gold Package INCLUDES:

  • 3-night stay in a single bed at the school facilities right next to the fields.
  • There are no single or double rooms. These are classrooms that are converted into dorm-style housing for their annual youth tournament. They generally put entire teams in the rooms, so they are not made for a small group of players. That being said, ReyCup will group players together by gender and do their best to have a small number in each room. Please see the photo, attached. They will make it look nicer, but this is the space.
  • Tournament player registration.
  • Opening ceremony on June 18 and closing ceremony gala dinner on June 20.
  • Laugardalslaug Aquatic Center entrance from June 18 to June 21.

GOLD MEALS are at the Hilton Nordica Hotel within walking distance of the fields. There are windows of time that the hotel offers the three meals and will align with the tournament hours. GOLD MEALS are breakfast, lunch and dinner on June 18th, June 19th and June 20th (9 total). The Saturday dinner is the closing ceremony gala, also a the Hilton.

GOLD DORMS — BATHROOM SHOWERS are not available at the dorms/school bunkers, but instead at the aquatic facility/public recreational center next door, Laugardalslaug Pool. The hours are 6:30am–10pm on Friday, and 8am–9pm Saturday and Sunday. You will be given free entrance to the facility with a wristband that gives you entrance and locks/unlocks your locker to store your items while showering or using the pools. The shower areas are communal/not private and divided by gender, but there are optional private showering stall areas. They do have body soap dispensers, hair dryers and you can rent towels or bring one in your luggage. The reviews online from visitors include comments about how clean and sanitized it is there.

Reykjavík – Dalur HI Hostel is located right next to the fields that is also used for the ReyCup youth tournament. Rates as of today for a room with two beds and a private bath from June 18 to June 21 is 77,350 ISK or $620 USD for two people ($310 USD each). There is optional breakfast, a cafe, laundry facilities, and also rooms with 4 or 5 beds (bunk beds). You would still need to purchase the tournament pass for ~$265 USD. You are welcome to book this for the dates you want and then select the Bronze package for the tournament pass and gala.

Dress code is casual. No need for formal attire! Plan to be comfortable dancing and socializing.

This is an adults-only event but arrangements are possible for children to join during the first part of the evening. Please contact us.
