What is the Global Goals?
In September 2015, the leaders of all 193 member states of the UN adopted Agenda 2030, a universal agenda that contains the Global Goals for Sustainable Development. The 17 Goals in turn hold 169 targets and 230 indicators.
Over the next fifteen years, countries will mobilize efforts to end all forms of poverty, fight inequalities and tackle climate change, while ensuring that no one is left behind.
The Global Goals is the most ambitious agreement for sustainable development that world leaders has ever made. It integrates all three aspects of sustainable development; social, economic and enviromental.
The Global Goals and Agenda 2030 builds on the success of the Millennium Development Goals and aim to go further to end all forms of poverty. The new Goals are unique in that they call for action by all countries, poor, rich and middle-income to promote prosperity while protecting the planet.
With the help of the Global Goals, we will be the first generation who can eradicate poverty and the last who can tackle climate change.
Our goal is to connect age 30 to 80+ women soccer players with recreational teams, leagues, training programs, tournaments, gear, travel and charitable organizations. We support the collaboration of women’s amateur soccer worldwide and PLAY for the United Nations 2030 Global Goals for Sustainable Development of Health and Wellness, Gender Equality and Reduced Inequalities.

Meet Equal Playing Field Ambassador, Brandi Mitchell!
We are beyond excited to introduce one of our inspiring ambassadors and heroes, Brandi Mitchell! Brandi is the founder of San Diego Soccer Women, which is an organization that connects women age 30+ in local Southern California to play football together. In July 2018 she collected 19 women to travel to Norway to play on the most beautiful pitch in the world and partnered with the San Diego Chapter of the United Nations to play for worldwide gender equality, health and wellness and inclusion. Brandi mentioned: “It was during this time that I realized the impact a strong group of soccer women can have in terms of gender issues and decided to get involved with Equal Playing Field. They provide a great platform to connect women globally to play football and to start conversations about gender equality.”
Brandi has helped us out tremendously by securing travel packages and by sharing her passion for football and gender equality with us during the development of our new World Record. Photo Credit: Collective SD Author: Jieke Stroobant

All Ages – All Skill Levels – All Countries Join in the World Record Game in France for Women’s Soccer
by equal playing field initiative
We will play a regular game of 11-a side football on a full-size pitch. However, the game only ends when teams run out of substitutes. To be counted, every player needs to play at least 10 minutes and touch the ball at least once. The game runs non-stop – including through the night. If 3500 players join us in France next year, we estimate the game will last about 5-6 days.
For those of you attending the Women’s March in San Diego today, check our Facebook and Instagram posts for an update on a location to take a group pic of soccer women who march for equality!
